   Hoy es el ultimo día de marzo y no quería terminar el mes sin subir otra entrada.
Así que hoy quiero compartirles un alfiletero que hice; Originalmente fue hecho en fieltro pero preferí  telas de algodón lisas y florales, y el bordado lo hice con colores que hacen juego con ellas. El resultado fue lindo. Tiene un bolsillo en la parte trasera donde se pueden guardar las tijeras y llevarlas en cualquier bolso a donde vayas con tu bordado.
  Hi, today is the last day of march and I don't want to finish this month without  a new post. 

 So today I want to share  with you a pincushion I did; It was originally made in felt but i chosed  better to do it in plain and floral fabrics, and I did all the embroidery in colors that matches with it. The result was very nice. It is a scissors case too, because it has a back  pocket where you can keep the scissors and take them in any bag  wherever you go with your needlework.

Hola, hoy quiero mostrarles este gobelino que hice hace dos años más o menos, cuando vivía en Palenque todavía.
Este gobelino tiene unos bolsillos donde guardo todas mis cosas de costura. Si se fijan verán los pequeños carretes, dedales y tijeras que tiene la tela. Me encantó desde el primer momento que la ví. ¿Notaron los lindos carretes de la tela azul? Las aplicaciones las hice a la maquina con un zig-zag pequeñito. Al final lo decoré con botones de acuerdo al tema. Y ese es mi costurero de patchwork, espero lo hayan disfrutado.

Hi, today I want to show you this wallquilt that I made about two years ago, I was living in Palenque at that time. This wallquilt has a lot of pockets where I keep all my sewing stuff. If you see carefully you're going to notice little spools, thimbles and scissors that the fabric has on it . I loved that fabric the moment I saw it. Did you see the lovely spools in the blue fabric? The apliques was machine made  with a very small zig-zag . At the end I put some beautiful buttons on it . This is my sewing caddy and I hope you like it.

Deseo compartir con ustedes algunos trabajitos que me mantuvieron bastante ocupada el año pasado, un camino de mesa, una carpeta para la mesa de la sala y unos cuadritos que hice para regalarle a mis hermanas, que por cierto son muchas, tengo la fortuna de pertenecer a una gran familia, somos nueve hermanos, de los cuales seis somos mujeres, ya se imaginaran que bonito es compartir todos juntos. Las aplicaciones del camino y la carpeta las hice a máquina, y los cuadritos totalmente a mano, la idea de este último lo saqué de la revista de labores del hogar, los hice con mucho cariño, espero les gusten.

Hola de nuevo, hoy les quiero compartir unas almohadas que hice para mi casa de Chiapas. Usé algunos de los cuadros tradicionales de patchwork. Espero les guste.

  Hi again, today I want to share with you some pillows I made for my home in Chiapas. I used some traditional patchwork blocks. I hope you like them.

La primera es del cuadro "pinwheel"( rehilete) y es muy sencillo de hacer.

A pasado un año y medio que dejé mi casa de Palenque, Chiapas y ahora estoy viviendo en Mérida, Yucatán. Dejé atrás muy buenas amigas con las que acostumbraba reunirme una vez por semana para bordar y costurar y hablar y hablar...; obviamente extraño eso y obviamente seguimos en contacto.
  Aqui en Mérida tengo nuevas amigas que comparten conmigo el amor por las manualidades. Es maravilloso que donde quiera que vayamos encontramos gente maravillosa.
  Así que empezamos lo que llamo nuestro "club de costura", y acordamos bordar el mismo proyecto por todo un año y entonces reunirnos para ver como nos quedó y terminarlo juntas. 
Este proyecto es un calendario en redwork muy sencillo y muy lindo que será fácil hacerlo sin retrasar nuestros proyectos personales. Así que ahora somos "las chicas del calendario".

Acabo de terminar el cuadro del mes de marzo y aqui se los comparto.

   It have been a year and a half that I left my Palenque, Chiapas home and I´m living in Mérida, Ycatán now. I left behind very good friends with whom I usually get together once a week to handstitch or sew and to talk and talk....; obviously I miss that and obviously we are still in touch .
   Here in Merida I have new friends that share with me the love for crafts. It's great that wherever we go we'll find wonderful people.
  So we started what I called our "embroidery club", and we agreed to hand stitch the same project for one whole year and then we are going to share how it came out and finish it together. This project is a redwork calendar very simple and very nice so it will be easy to do it without delaying our personal projects. And now we are the "calendar girls".

My first quilt

Aprovecho la oportunidad que me da Alice para compartir las imágens de la primera colcha que confeccioné con la ayuda de una persona que vino a enseñar patchwork a Mérida.La hice para mi hija y por supuesto le encantó, creo que es una labor que me permite relajarme aunque soy un poco desesperada y ya quería terminarla pronto. Actualmente estoy haciendo una para mi sobrina nieta, apenas la termine subo las fotografías para compartir con uds.

Saludos de nuevo. Con la novedad de haber terminado la colcha de mi hijo Andrés, es temática, le puse un skater en el centro y creo que le gusto  porque el practica ese deporte y le encanta.
Fue mi primera colcha que hice toda a la maquina, el armado y el acolchado, y me sorprendió lo rapido que la terminé. Para el armado use la tecnica llamada "quilt as you go", que encontre en la red buscando videos de quilting y en realidad les recomiendo intentar hacerlo. 
La tecnica  consiste en hacer cada cuadro separado incluso acolcharlo individualmente y despues unir los cuadros para formar tiras; y luego unir las tiras entre sí para formar la colcha.

Hi again; With the novelty of having finished the quilt for my son Andrew, I put a skater in the middle and I think he really likes it because he practices that sport and loves it.
It was the first quilt I did completely with my sewing machine: assembly and quilting. I was surprised how quickly I finished it. 
For the assembly I used a technique called "quilt as you go" that I found on the net looking for videos of quilting and I really recommend trying it.
The technique is to make each block separate and even quilt it individually and then join the blocks in rows and finally join all the rows together to finish the quilt.

 Acostumbraba decir que el punto de cruz no era lo mio, pero decidí tratar con este sencillo gráfico que encontré en una vieja revista, y fué entonces que empecé a disfrutar hacerlo... tanto que ya empece un nuevo proyecto de punto de cruz.. 
Justo cuando empecé a bordar los dedales encontré un pequeño pedazo de de tela con dedales, y ahi tuve la gran idea de enmarcarlo con ella como si fuera un cuadro de patchwork y realmente me encantó el resultado final.
Aquí les dejo las fotos que quería compartirles..


I always used to say that cross stitching wasn't my thing, but I decided to try with this very simple thimbles  pattern that I found in an old magazine, and then I started to enjoy doing it. That much that I start a new cross stitch project already.
Just when I started the thimble´s  stitching I found a little piece of fabric with thimbles on it, and I  had the great idea to put it around  the embroidered square like I do in my patchwork blocks and I really love how finally looks.
