... Siempre me han gustado las muñecas rags, como lo notan en este espacio, y las muñecas rústicas, especialmente las muñecas Amish, además de mi respeto por esta comunidad de personas que con su estilo de vida sencillo, sus vestimentas tradicionales  y su renuencia a adoptar las comodidades modernas han acaparado mi atención. Sin dejar de lado mi gran admiración por sus bellísimas colchas de patchwork, reconocidas a nivel mundial.

I've always loved dolls rags, as you noted in this space, and rustic dolls, especially  Amish dolls, in addition to my respect for this community of people with their simple lifestyle, their traditional clothes and reluctance to adopt modern amenities have grabbed my attention. Without neglecting my great admiration for its beautiful patchwork quilts, recognized worldwide.

          

Como ven en la foto, las muñecas Amish no tienen rostro para enfatizar el hecho de que todos somos iguales ante los ojos de Dios, según sus creencias.
As seen in the photo, Amish dolls have no face to emphasize the fact that we are all equal in the eyes of God.

Cuenta una historia que una navidad una niña Amish recibió una muñeca rag con cara, lo que provocó molestia en su padre quien reemplazó la cabeza por una de trapo  y se la dió a la niña y le dijo:

"Solo Dios puede crear personas", 

y la niña sin dudar tomó a la muñeca y se fué a jugar. Y desde ese día nacieron las tradicionales muñecas Amish sin rostro.

A story tells that on a Christmas day, a little Amish girl received a doll (with a face), which caused discomfort in his father who replaced the head with a rag and handed it to the girl and said: "Only God can create people," and the girl without hesitation took the doll and went to play. And from that day the traditional faceless Amish dolls were born.

Y así lo han hecho muchas niñas amish a lo largo de los años, quienes adoran a sus muñecas igual que nosotras o nuestras hijas adoramos las nuestras.
And so many Amish girls have do it over the years, who adore their dolls like us or our daughters adore ours.

Mmmm... y se preguntaran de donde vino esta entrada, ¿porqué la escribí?
Bueno, pues es a propósito de la muñeca que quiero enseñarles hoy.

Mmmm ... and maybe you wonder, where this post came from, why I write it?
Well it is about the doll that I want to share with you today.

Es de mis últimas creaciones, y estoy muy complacida con ella ya que apliqué la tecnica del craquelado, que he usado antes al pintar cerámica, para darle un estilo antiguo, además de que la vestí inspirandome en las muñecas Amish.
It's one of my latest creations, and I'm very pleased with it because and I applied the crackeling technique that I've used before to paint pottery, to give it an old style,  dressed and took the inspiration from Amish dolls to dressed them.

El lugar favorito para la siesta...

 Como ven hice dos y como este proyecto era especial, porque era una idea que rondaba mi cabeza hace mucho, quise compartirlo con mi querida amiga Rosi que estuvo de cumpleaños

As you see I did two of them and, because it was an idea that I had around my head for a long time, and I wanted to share it with my dear friend Rosi for her birthday

La idea era que se viera cuarteada como las muñecas antiguas de porcelana y logré el "look" ¿No creen?
Tambien le dí el color antiguo a la ropa remojándola en café cargado y dejándolas secar. Y como ultimo detalle le puse en sus manos un carrete de madera antiguo.

My idea was that it looks like cracked porcelain antique dolls, and I got the "look" Don't you think?
I also gave the old color to the clothes soaking it in coffee and then allowing them to dry. And for the last detail, I put in their hands an old wooden spool.

El mandil está bordado con unas palabras inspiracionales que me encantaron:

Pues bien, esta muñeca ya adorna un rincón de mi sala y la otra ya está en manos de su nueva dueña. Adoro hacer manualidades, sobre todo muñecas, pero lo más gratificante es regalarlas a nuestros seres queridos,  ya que se van con un pedacito de nuestro corazón¡¡¡
Well, this doll is already decorating a corner in my living room and the other one is in the hands of its new owner. I love doing crafts, especially dolls, but the more rewarding thing is to give them to our loved ones, because they go away with a little piece of our heart.

Mi bellísima muñeca, que vino desde Puerto Rico; Tantos y tantos kilometros recorridos para finalmente llegar a esta, su nueva casa.

Me la envió mi querida amiga Carmen del blog "My country touch", que a pesar de la distancia se ha vuelto una persona muy importante en mi vida. Como ven tiene arte en las manos haciendo muñecas y tengo el privilegio de tener una de sus creaciones.

My dear friend Carmen from "My country touch blog" has sent her to me, she has become a very important person in my life. As you can see, she has art in the hands making dolls, and I have the privilege of having one of her creations.

"Precious" ha sido recibida por todos mis niños que estan felices de tener una nueva hermanita, y siempre tendrá un lugar especial en mi corazón.

All my children are very happy to have a new sister, and Precious always going to have a special place in my heart.

Y por si no fuera más que suficiente, Carmen me mandó junto con Precious un montón de cosas maravillosas. Que siento como si fuera la mañana de navidad con tantos regalos ¡¡

And if that was not quite enough, Carmen sent me along with Precious lots of wonderful things. I feel like Christmas morning with so many gifts¡¡

Unas telitas preciosas, que me servirán un montón, un portatijeras, un alfiletero de los que se ponen sobre el carrete de hilo, un recorte para hacer una almohada de corazón preciosa, unas tiras de papel para usos multiples, postales del bellisimo Puerto Rico...

Beautiful fabrics that will be very useful for me, a scissors case,a pincushion,fabric to make a lovely heart pillow, strips of paper for multiple uses, postcards of the beautiful Puerto Rico ...

Me ha consentido, ¿No creen?...También estos cojincitos hechos por ella, lindísimos, uno para mí, uno para mi hija Bárbara y uno para mi amiga Rosy de Palenque, que se lo enviaré lo más pronto posible.

Carmen, Bárbara te agradece muchísimo,le encantó y ya lo tiene colgado en su habitación. 

She have spoiled me,  Don't you think? ... Also these small cushions she made. All ​​are very pretty; one for me, one for my daughter Barbara and one for my friend Rosy of Palenque, which I will send her as soon as possible.

Carmen, Barbara thank you very much, she loved it and already have it hanging in her room.

Y por ultimo un regalo que me maravilló por su sencillez y utilidad; una fresita que al principio pensé que era un alfiletero o un sachet pero cual fué mi sorpresa al abrirla, es una bolsa, ideal para llevar al super dentro de nuestro bolso de mano y traer la compra en ella, así contribuimos con el planeta usando menos bolsas de plastico. 

Gran idea¡¡ No les parece?

And finally a gift that surpiised me, cause its simplicity and usefulness, a strawberry that at first, I thought it was a pincushion or a sachet, but what was my surprise when I opened it. It is a bag, ideal to take to the grocery store in our handbag  to bring everything in it  and contribute to the planet by using less plastic bags.

Hace un mes mas o menos la pequeña raggedy Mary Ann inicio su camino a casa. 
A month ago or so, this little raggedy Mary Ann began her journey home. 

Adios¡¡

Salió de México y luego de varios vuelos y cruzando el mar llegó a su nueva casa en Humacao, puerto rico. Un lugar precioso con unos paisajes bellísimos. 
Debe ser maravilloso vivir en una isla ¡
She left Mexico and after several flights over the sea, Mary Ann reached her new home in Humacao, Puerto Rico. A beautiful place with beautiful landscapes. It must be wonderful to live in an island ¡¡

En Humacao la esperaba Carmen, quien la acogió amorosamente en su casa; la presentó con sus nuevas amigas y sé que le dará todo el amor que esta pequeñita se merece. En ningún otro lugar podría estar mejor ¡ 

Carmen was waiting her at home in Humacao, she was lovingly welcomed; and presented with her ​​new friends and I know that Carmen will give this little girl all the love that she deserves. No where else could be better ¡

Pues amigas blogueras, es increible compartir con tantas de ustedes este mundo cibernético de las manualidades, donde podemos expresar quienes somos y compartir nuestras creaciones, pero mas que nada este mundo de nuevas amistades y experiencias tan gratificantes, que la creación de mi blog ha sido de las mejores decisiones que he tomado a nivel personal, ya que he recibido muchísimo mas de lo que nunca me imaginé. Y este intercambio de muñecas con Carmen ha sido una afirmación de nuestra amistad y entendimiento a pesar de la distancia que nos separa. Les invito a las que no lo hayan  hecho, a participar en esta aventura de hacer un blog y expresar al mudo quienes son.
