All dressed up this beatiful witches are ready to go to their new home, to watch over a new kitchen. One is for my sister Yulia, to welcome her to her new life, she has just left her job after more than 10 years, to be more time at home with her to sons: Nicolás, who's 4 and Alejandro who's 2 years old. Congratulations Yulia¡ You will not regret your decision. She is going to change to a part time job. And to help her in this adventure, is going to be one lucky witch.

Todas vestidas estas tres brujitas, listas para volar a sus nuevas casas y cuidar nuevas cocinas. Una de ellas es para mi hermana Yulia para darle la bienvenida a su nueva vida, ella acaba de dejar su trabajo de mas de 10 años, para pasar mas tiempo en casa con sus hijos: Nicolas de 4 y Alejandro de 2 años. Felicidades Yulia¡ Planea tomar un trabajo de medio tiempo. No te vas a arrepentir de tu decision.Y para ayudarla en esta aventura va a tener una brujita de la suerte.

Here they are all finished, but without her brooms, I couldn't find brooms in the size I wanted, so I made them myself. It was very quick and easy. I let you the photos...

Well as you can see, I'm in a halloween mood, and I just finish this little raggedy witch,she is 8" tall without her hat. I made her for my kitchen in Palenque and i just love her, did you see the tomato button?...and the best is the wood spoon that she is riding. She is great¡¡¡

Como ven estoy en humor de halloween, y acabo de terminar esta pequeña brujita Raggedy, ella mide  8" sin contar el sombrero. La hice para mi cocina de palenque y me encantó, se fijaron del botón de tomate?... y lo mejor de todo es la cuchara de madera que va montando. Es maravillosa.

The pattern is from "Chestnut Junction", I'm trying to do all the dolls I have bought the patterns some time ago, before I buy some more; and the temptation is big, there are a lot of beautiful doll patterns out there. So get to work Alicia¡¡ or you never make it¡¡

El patrón es de "Chestnut Junction", y estoy tratando de hacer todas las muñecas de los patrones que he comprado hace tiempo antes de comprar mas. Y la tentacion es mucha,ya que hay montones de patrones de muñecas preciosas por todos lados. Así que...manos a la obra Alicia o nunca lo vas a lograr¡¡¡¡¡ 

This little witch's face is hand stitched and the legs are painted with acrylic paints, her clothing and hat are made of matching fabrics, the hair is made of red yarn and the eyes are two small beads. Isn't she cute?

La carita de esta bruja esta bordada a mano y tiene ojos con pequeñas cuentas. Sus pienas estan pintadas y su ropa es de telas coordinadas de algodón. Su pelo  como siempre es de estambre rojo.

Hi, I'm very happy, because I have just finish my kitchen witch. I got the pattern months ago, and finally is done.

I love her and she has a very special meaning to me.
I don't remember my childhood paying attention to her, but I'm sure that she was always there. She was hanging in a corner in my mom's kitchen, riding her broom.
Saludos, estoy muy feliz porque acabo de terminar mi "bruja de la cocina". Hace tiempo que tenía el patrón y finalmente la hice.
La adoro y tiene un significado especial para mí.
No recuerdo haberle prestado atención en mi niñez, pero estoy segura que siempre estuvo ahi. Ella estaba colgada en un rincón de la cocina de mi mami montando su escoba.

Years passed, I got married, left home...

And when I come visiting my mom, she became a silent listener of our chats, because the kitchen was the most pleasant place to spent time together for the both of us.

Now I remember me asking my mom about that old witch hanging there. Her answer always was "She is my lucky kitchen witch", and I never asked nothing else.

A few months ago, after she pass away, I was searching in the web for hallowen handcrafts and what was my surprise, I found the kitchen witch history.

Pasaron los años, me casé, deje la casa... Y cuando llegaba a visitar a mi mamá, ella se convirtió en una oyente silenciosa de todas nuestras platicas, ya que la cocina era el lugar mas acogedor para ambas. Ahora recuerdo haberle preguntado a mi mamá sobre esa bruja vieja que tenia en la cocina, y lo único que me dijo fué, "es mi brujita de la suerte". Nunca le pregunté nada más.
Unos meses despues que mi mamá murió, buscando en la red manualidades de halloween, cual fué mi sorpresa al encontrar la historia de la bruja de la cocina.

Los ancestros de mi madre fueron de la antigua Checoslovaquia, asi que creo que de ahí heredo alla esta tradición.
La bruja de la cocina en una muñeca hecha a mano como una típica bruja que se coloca en las cocinas de las casas para la buena suerte y protección contra los malos espíritus, es una bruja buena que da productividad y seguridad en la cocina y contraresta cualquier mal dirigido a ese hogar.

This is my mom's kitchen witch, with her red nose riding her broom, it's not a good picture, but I'm going to take another one to show you, when I visit my sister cause she got her now.
