Hace tres años...

Three years ago...

...si, hace tres años empecé esta colcha de conejitos a petición de mi hija Bárbara.

En esa época vivía todavía en Palenque, y estaba dando mis primeros pasos en el patchwork.
Nos mudamos a Mérida, empecé nuevos proyectos...y fuí dejando esta colcha tan sencilla olvidada.
...yes, three years ago I started this bunny quilt as a request of my daugther Bárbara. At that time I still lived in Palenque, and I was just taking my first steps in patchwork. We moved to mérida, started new projects...and let this simply quilt forgotten.

Y finalmente esta semana puse manos a la obra y la termine; está hecha toda a máquina y con el método "quilt as you go"(acolchar por partes), pero se ve linda, como dulce de azucar y a Bárbara realmente le gustó.! Así que buen trabajo ¡
And finally this week I got to work, and finished it; It's all machine made and used the "quilt as you go" method, but it looks nice, like cotton candy and Bárbara really like it. So It's a job well done ¡

Lo que si termine hace tres años fue la almohada que hace juego con la colcha, aqui está la foto...

Hi everyone, today, I finally could work a little in my sewing. 

I cut down a lot of 5 inches squares, because I want to do some coasters that matches the tablemats I did some months ago, and I have left plenty of fabric. I cut some strips for my daugther's bunnie quilt too.

Hola a todas, al fin pude trabajar en mis proyectos.  Hoy corté un monton de cuadros de 5 pulgadas, ya que quiero hacer unos portavasos que hagan juego con los individuales que hice hace algunos meses ya que me sobró bastante tela..

Tambien corté unas tiras para la colcha de conejitos que le estoy haciendo a mi hija Bárbara.

Then, I finished the 12 blocks of this Bunnie Quilt, they are really big blocks, they measured about 20 inches. I'm planning to use the "Quilt as you go" method, quilting one block at a time and then joining all together.

Let see...maybe tomorrow...

Entonces terminé los 12 cuadros de la colcha de conejitos, son cuadros muy grandes, miden como 20 pulgadas. Estoy planeando usar la técnica de "Quilt as you go", acolchando cuadro por cuadro y entonces unirlos ya acolchados.

Veamos... tal vez mañana...

"SKATING QUILT"

Saludos de nuevo. Con la novedad de haber terminado la colcha de mi hijo Andrés, es temática, le puse un skater en el centro y creo que le gusto  porque el practica ese deporte y le encanta.
Fue mi primera colcha que hice toda a la maquina, el armado y el acolchado, y me sorprendió lo rapido que la terminé. Para el armado use la tecnica llamada "quilt as you go", que encontre en la red buscando videos de quilting y en realidad les recomiendo intentar hacerlo. 
La tecnica  consiste en hacer cada cuadro separado incluso acolcharlo individualmente y despues unir los cuadros para formar tiras; y luego unir las tiras entre sí para formar la colcha.

Hi again; With the novelty of having finished the quilt for my son Andrew, I put a skater in the middle and I think he really likes it because he practices that sport and loves it.
It was the first quilt I did completely with my sewing machine: assembly and quilting. I was surprised how quickly I finished it. 
For the assembly I used a technique called "quilt as you go" that I found on the net looking for videos of quilting and I really recommend trying it.
The technique is to make each block separate and even quilt it individually and then join the blocks in rows and finally join all the rows together to finish the quilt.
