Mary Ann is on her way to Puerto Rico, Where my dear friend Carmen is waiting for her. 
It's great to think that this little doll I've made with all my love is going to live in Carmen's home that is so far away from here, where she is going to be loved and apreciated, as I do with all my dolls. 
It's a mysterious way how love travels around the world ¡ Don't you think?
Mary Ann esta en camino a Puerto Rico, donde la espera mi querida amiga Carmen.
Es grandioso pensar que esta pequeña muñeca que hice con todo mi cariño va a vivir en casa de Carmen que esta tan lejos de aqui, donde será amada y apreciada, como hago yo con todas las muñecas que hago.

Hi, well I've just finished some dolls for the smallest members of the family.

They are Alejo, Nicolas, Javier and Alex.

I think they are going to like them.

Bueno, pues acabo de terminar unos muñecos para los miembros  mas pequeños de la familia.

Ellos son Alejo, Nicolas, Javier y Alex.

Creo que les van a encantar.

 I made them specially, without stuffing it to much, so the dolls remains very soft and huggable, in case the boys wants to sleep with them.

As you see they are little guys in her pajamas and with their pillows ready to sleep.

Los hice especialmente para ellos, sin rellenarlos demasiado, para que queden suaves y abrazables por si los niños quieren dormir con ellos.

Como ven son pequeños muñecos en pijamas y con sus almohadas listos para ir a dormir.

Hi, I've been working in my christmas presents, this year I'm planning to give presentes all made by me. So now I start with some dolls. Next I'm going to do some cross stitch and, I don't know what else. Time will say...

Hola, he estado trabajando en mis regalos navideños, ya que estoy planeando regalar este año puros regalos hechos por mí.

I'm doing my first intent on cloth doll's face sculping.

My two old people are'n perfect but I'm loving them. I know that they are going to be gorgeus when I dress them.

Como pueden ver en la foto, estoy haciendo mi primer intento esculpiendo en tela las caras de mis muñecas.

Mis dos viejitos no estan perfectos, pero me estan encantando. Se que se veran grandiosos cuando les ponga sus ropas.

Hi again, finally "Ringo" is finished, he is the first raggedy boy I made, and I just love him, his little girlfriend "Honey Pie" has been ready since august. Now the're going to be accompanied.

Hola de nuevo,finalmente termine a Ringo, es mi primer raggedy niño y me encanta. su amiguita Honey Pie esta lista desde agosto, ahora se haran compañia.

His uncombed hair falling over his forehead reminds me the famous beatles hairstyle, and that's why I called him Ringo, as the band's drummer  unforgettable Ringo Star.

Su pelo depeinado cayendo sobre su frente me recuerda al famoso peinado de los beatles, por eso lo llamé Ringo como el inolvidable baterista de la banda, Ringo Starr.

He has a muslin body, embroidered face and painted shoes. Ringo is very happy with his new shirt and pants.

Esta hecho de muslin, su carita está bordada y sus zapatos pintados. Ringo esta muy contento con su camisa y pantalón nuevos.


She is Honey Pie (Like the Beatles song) for those who missed her post.

Hi, I just wanted to put together this lovely dolls, both were birthday presents for beutiful people; my friend Julia and my goddaughter Shaula.

Hola, este post es porque quería poner juntas estas lindas muñecas, ambas fueron regalo de cumpleaños de dos bellas personas; mi amiga Julia y mi ahijada Shaula.

This girls are traditional raggedy dolls.

They're not that big, they measure about 12 inches. 

Estas niñas son muñecas raggedy tradicionales. No estan tan grandes, miden 12 pulgadas mas o menos.

Their bodies are made of muslin, her faces are handstitched with red and black thread. Both hairs are made of yarn, Yvi's is orange like her nose and Margie's red.

Sus cuerpos estan hechos de muslin, sus caritas estan bordadas a mano con hilos rojo y negro. El pelo de ambas es de estambre, naranja el de Yvi igual que su naricita y rojo el de Margie.

Her clothes are made of cotton fabrics with beatiful combinations and colors and are embelished with decorative buttons.

Sus ropas estan hechas de telas de algodon con lindas combinaciones y colores, y estan adornadas con botones decorativos.

I love doing Annies, you should try, once you make one you can't stop...

This is beautiful Margie Ann, I haven't post about her because she was a gift for my dear friend Julia Margot; that's why I called this doll "Margie".

Julia have allready received the present and she loved the idea of adopting Margie Ann. So everything is perfect.

Esta es la lindísima Margie Ann. No se las habia presentado porque era un regalo querida amiga Julia Margot; por eso la llamé Margie.

Julia ya recibió el regalo y le encantó la idea de adoptar a Margie Ann. Así que todo esta perfecto.

Hi, today I want to present you this wild hair raggedy.

Hola, hoy les quiero presentar esta despeinada muñeca raggedy. 

Her name is Honey Pie, like the beatles song, cause she is truly a fan of this english group.

Su nombre es Honey Pie (Tarta de miel), como la cancion de los beatles, porque ella es verdaderamente fan de este grupo londinense.

Her body is made with muslin, her face is hand-stitched (Thanks Rosy), her boots are painted with black acrilic paint and varnished.

Her beautiful dress and "undies" are made of 100% cotton fabrics. The dress is embellished with a daisy

 button and a patch...

Su cuerpo esta hecho con tela "muslin", su carita es bordada a mano (Gracias Rosy), sus zapatos son pintados con pintura acrilica y barnizados.Su lindo vestido y calzoncito esta hecho de telas 100% algodón, El vestido esta adornado con un botón de margarita y un parche.

"Honey Pie" has become my favorite rag doll, her groovy look with her uncombed hair just catched my heart.

"Honey Pie" se ha vuelto mi muñeca rag favorita, la facha que trae y su cabello despeinado despeinado conquistaron mi corazón.

It has been a long waiting...Finally I'm back to present you these gorgeus ballerina dolls. These were one of the last dolls we made, my friend Rosy and I, this past summer vacations. We were very busy doing dolls, I think we made about 6 or 7 dolls in about five weeks. It was great because we learned a lot about dollmaking and we had time to catch up what has been going on in our lives all the time we didn't see each other, and talk, talk talk...

Ha sido larga la espera, pero ya estoy de regreso para presentarles estas magníficas bailarinas. Fueron casi de las últimas muñecas que hicimos, mi amiga Rosy y yo estas pasadas vacaciones de verano. Estuvimos muy ocupadas,creo que hicimos en total como seis muñecas en cinco semanas. Fué maravilloso porque aprendimos mucho de muñequería y pudimos ponernos al dia con lo que ha pasado en nuestras vidas todo el tiempo que no nos vimos y platicar, platicar, platicar..

Shhh... lights go out, 

the curtain rises, music 

starts playing,

the ballet has begun...

Shhh... se apagan las luces, suben las cortinas, empieza a escucharse la musica, 

el ballet ha empezado...

First Act

These lovely dolls are made with faces sold by yhe mexican doll designer "Alicia Narez", they are  made of plaster and cloth lined. The facial features are 

painted by hand.

Primer Acto

Las caritas de estas muñecas son de yeso forrado de tela y las facciones estan pintadas a mano, las hace la diseñadora de muñecas mexicana Alicia Narez.

Second Act

We did the choth body and stuffed it very firmly so we can put the dolls in a ballet pose.

And they just looks like 

real ballerinas.

Then we sewed the face to the dolls head by hand with hiding stitches and the ends 

are later covered

with the hair.

 It is made of brown yarn and hand-sewed too.

Segundo Acto

Nosotros hicimos el cuerpo de tela y lo rellenamos apretadamente para poder colocar la muñeca en posición de ballet. Y realmente lucen como bailarinas de ballet.

Despues costuramos la carita a la cabeza con puntadas escondidas. De cualquier manera las uniones se cubren despues con el pelo hecho de estambre café y costurado a mano también.

Third Act

The ballet costumes are made of two glittering fabrics and tulle

to lift the skirt.

And finally  they all embellished with a lot of ribbons, flowers and small butterflies in their hair.

Tercer Acto

El traje esta hecho de telas con muchos brillos y tul para levantar la falda.

Y finalmente estan adornadas con muchos listones y flores y 

unas pequeñas mariposas en el pelo.

The curtain falls, ligths off, everything is quiet now...

The ballet is over !

Cae el telón, 

se apagan las luces, 

todo esta en silencio  ahora... 

El ballet ha terminado!

But this wonderful rewarding feeling I get from this ballerina doll 

every time I saw it, 

is never-ending.

Pero este maravilloso y gratificante sentimiento que me provoca cada vez que veo esta preciosa muñeca bailarina 

no tiene final.

This beatiful doll is 10 inches tall and is very easy to do it. You don't need special sewing skills.

Esta linda muñeca mide 10 pulgadas de alto y es muy fácil de hacer.

No se necesitan habilidades de costura especiales.

She is made with a 2 inches wooden bead for the head, 

and the circular base's diameter is 3 inches. 

The body is made of a wooden block of 3 3/4 inches tall 

by 2 1/2 inches wide and 

1 3/8 inches thick. 

The holes for the arms and legs are 1/2 inches. 

All joined together with thin wooden sticks. (See photo)

Ella está hecha con una cuenta de madera de 2 pulgadas para la cabeza y una base circular de 3 pulgadas de diametro. 

El cuerpo está hecho con un bloque de madera de 3 3/4 pulg. de alto por 2 1/2 pulg. de ancho por 1 3/8 pulg.de grueso. Los agujeros para brazos y piernas son de 1/2 pulg. 

Todo unido con delgados palitos de madera.(Ver foto)

1- First paint with the head with pale pink, then draw the face with black and permanet markers.

1-Primero pinte la cabeza de rosa claro, luego dibuje la cara con marcadores permenentes rojo y negro.

2-With "dry brush technique" paint the cheeks:

 -Load the brush with

  a small amount of

  red paint.

 -Wipe off the excess of

  paint.

2- Pinte las mejillas con la técnica del "pincel seco".

 -Cargue el pincel con pintura roja.
 -Elimine el exceso en cualquier superficie.

-Paint the cheeks with cicular motion.
-Pinte las mejillas   con movimientos circulares.

3- Paint hands and shoes as you like.

3-Pinte las manos y los zapatos a su gusto.

4- Paint the body in the color of the dress's fabric.

4-Pinte el cuerpo en el color de la tela del vestido.

5-Paint the base in a color you like, I used vintage gold paint.

5-Pinte la base en un color que le guste, yo use color oro viejo.

6- Cut the legs and arms fabric.

-Legs: 

17 inches by 5 1/2 inches.

-Arms:

13 inches by 5 1/2 inches.

Then sew them by the long side and turn them to the rightside.

6- Corte la tela de los brazos y las piernas:

-Piernas 

17 pulgadas por 5 1/2 pulgadas

- Brazos 

13 pulgadas por 5 1/2 pulgadas.

Entonces costúrelos por el lado largo y luego voltéelos al derecho.

7-Insert the arms and legs in the holes as you see in the photo.

7- Inserte los brazos y piernas en los agujeros como se ve en la foto.

8.Fill arms and legs loosely, just to give them shape.

8-Rellene los brazos y piernas holgadamente, solo para darles forma.

9-Sew by hand on the arm's end with small stitches. Then pull out the thread to secure the wooden hands in place. 

Do the same to put on the wooden shoes.

9-Costure con pequeñas puntadas a la mano la orilla de las mangas. Jale el hilo para amarrar las manitas de madera.

Haga lo mismo con los zapatitos de madera.

Make sure you make good knots. We don't want to lost our shoes or hands.

Asegúrese de hacer buenos nudos, que no queremos perder los zapatos o manos.

10- Cut the dress's fabric:     

       27 inches by 7 inches.

Sew the lace in one of the long ends.Close the dress by the 

sides. 

Ruffle the top of the dress like      

you did with the arms and legs.

10- Corte la tela del vestido:

27 pulgadas por 7 pulgadas.

Costure el encaje en una de           las orillas largas. Cierre el vestido por los lados.

Rize la parte superior del vestido igual como lo hizo con los brazos y piernas.

11-Tie the dress to the doll's body just under the arm with a tight knot.

11- Amarre el vestido al cuerpo de la muñeca justo abajo de los brazos con un nudo bien apretado.

12- Ruffle the lace for the collar by hand too and tie it at the doll's neck. Embellish it with a little bow. 

12- Rize el encaje para el cuello a la mano también y amárrelo al cuello de la muñeca. Adorne con un moñito.

13- Place the hair with hot glue.

13- Pegue el pelo con silicón caliente.

And the doll is done¡¡¡

!Y la muñeca esta lista¡¡¡

You can make a Raggedy doll too.

Se puede hacer una muñeca raggedy también.
