2011 unfinished project

Proyecto del 2011 no terminado

Hi I started this cross stitch embroidery last year and now I'm working on it again. Hope I do finish it this year. In the center goes a beautiful quilting poem, so I can't wait to see it done. The design is from Leisure Arts magazine and just love it!!

Hola, empece este bordado en punto de cruz el año pasado y ahora estoy trabajando en el otra vez. Espero poder terminarlo este año. En el centro lleva un lindo poema de "quilting", así que no puedo esperar para verlo terminado. El diseño es de la revista "Leisure Arts" y me encanta.

Again late, but here is my December block. It has been a busy month!!
Tarde otra vez, pero aquí esta mi cuadro de Diciembre. Ha sido un mes muy ocupado.

And very happy!! I have started my first 2012 project and of course, it is a raggedy doll for a very special friend.

ENERO CALENDARIO COUNTRY

 Hola aquí les dejo el bloque correspondiente al mes de enero del Calendario Country .

Es un hermoso diseño muy apropiado al inicio de un nuevo año, a mi me parece me ha gustado mucho.

CALENDARIO COUNTRY MES DICIEMBRE

Hola con un poco de atraso les muestro el bloque del calendario country, que estamos elaborando Alicia, Margot y Yo.  Ha tocado en este bloque a un simpatico muñeco de nieve, a poco no es muy tierno, a mi me ha gustado mucho.

Bueno aquí lo dejo, nos vemos pronto.

Today I want to share with you this little christmas story, if we could call it that way,  it made me learn something about what should be our roll like moms.

 Javier is my 5 years old nephew and one of the things he asked for christmas was something to sew. Maybe, I think, because he usually saw one of her aunts doing softies from recycled t-shirts. 
My sister in law, Julie went out to toystores and crafts stores searching for a sewing kit for Javier. She didn't found one, the few ones she find was all girly stuff. 
Hola hoy quiero compartirles esta pequeña historia, navideña, si es podemos decirle asi, ya que me hizo reflexionar sobre nuestro papel como mamás.
Javier es mi sobrinito de 5 años, y él queria algo para aprender a costurar, pienso yo que porque el ha visto a una de sus tias haciendo muñequitos de camisetas recicladas.
Mi cuñada Julie  recorrió tiendas de juguetes y de manualidades buscando un kit de costura para Javier, pero no encontró, los pocos que halló eran muy para niñas. 

So she had the great idea of making a "Monster Kit". She got a lot of sewing stuff: buttons in beautiful and bright colors, sccisors, needles, threads, felt in different colors and textures. She made a cute felt monster silhouette too. As you can see in the photo ...
Then she wrote down the instrucctions sheet, and draw some monsters in it too.
She put all in a shoe box, wich she decorated with green-brown paper and glued a felt monster on the top. 
And the box was under my christmas tree on time (they spent holidays with us).
Entonces tuvo la magnifica idea de hacer un "Kit de Moustro". Consiguió de todo, tijeras, botones en colores alegres y brillantes, agujas, hilo, fieltro en diferentes colores y texturas. Hizo una silueta de moustro en fieltro como podran ver en la foto. Ademas le hizo su hoja de instrucciones con dibujos de moustros con lápices de colores. puso todo en una caja de zapatos que decoro en verde y cafe y con un moustro pequeño de fieltro pegado en la parte superior, y estuvo listo para colocarlo bajo mi arbolito de navidad ya que pasaron las festividades con nosotros.

He simply loved the kit, and he spent an entired evening making the monster with her mom, he learned the stitches he needed to, and he decided wich buttons to use and the colors of the strips he wanted to make. I was delighted watching him working with his monster, and it was great everytime I heard him sayiny to his mom: -please mom could you read me the next step please¡¡- 

Simplemente le encantó y se pasó una tarde entera haciendo el moustro con su mamá, aprendió todas las puntadas, escogio los colores que quería en los ojos y en las tiras del cuerpo. Me encantaba oirle decir de cuando en cuando,-Mami ¿ me lees el siguiente paso por favor ?

And the wonderful monster was ready in about 3 or 4 hours; and he was really happy with it because he made it with his own hands.
I think that Julie taught me that it is not hard doing things to stimulate our children's creativity and we all should take this like an example.

Y este maravilloso moustro estuvo listo en 3 o 4 horas y Javier estaba realmente feliz de haberlo hecho con sus propias manos.
Lo que aprendí de Julie fue que no es dificil hacer cosas para estimular la creatividad de los hijos y creo que este es un ejemplo que todas como mamas debemos seguir.
