"Gran Estreno de Ballet"
It has been a long waiting...Finally I'm back to present you these gorgeus ballerina dolls. These were one of the last dolls we made, my friend Rosy and I, this past summer vacations. We were very busy doing dolls, I think we made about 6 or 7 dolls in about five weeks. It was great because we learned a lot about dollmaking and we had time to catch up what has been going on in our lives all the time we didn't see each other, and talk, talk talk...
Ha sido larga la espera, pero ya estoy de regreso para presentarles estas magníficas bailarinas. Fueron casi de las últimas muñecas que hicimos, mi amiga Rosy y yo estas pasadas vacaciones de verano. Estuvimos muy ocupadas,creo que hicimos en total como seis muñecas en cinco semanas. Fué maravilloso porque aprendimos mucho de muñequería y pudimos ponernos al dia con lo que ha pasado en nuestras vidas todo el tiempo que no nos vimos y platicar, platicar, platicar..
Shhh... lights go out,
the curtain rises, music
starts playing,
the ballet has begun...
Shhh... se apagan las luces, suben las cortinas, empieza a escucharse la musica,
el ballet ha empezado...
These lovely dolls are made with faces sold by yhe mexican doll designer "Alicia Narez", they are made of plaster and cloth lined. The facial features are
painted by hand.
Primer Acto
Las caritas de estas muñecas son de yeso forrado de tela y las facciones estan pintadas a mano, las hace la diseñadora de muñecas mexicana Alicia Narez.
We did the choth body and stuffed it very firmly so we can put the dolls in a ballet pose.
And they just looks like
real ballerinas.
Then we sewed the face to the dolls head by hand with hiding stitches and the ends
are later covered
with the hair.
It is made of brown yarn and hand-sewed too.
Segundo Acto
Nosotros hicimos el cuerpo de tela y lo rellenamos apretadamente para poder colocar la muñeca en posición de ballet. Y realmente lucen como bailarinas de ballet.
Despues costuramos la carita a la cabeza con puntadas escondidas. De cualquier manera las uniones se cubren despues con el pelo hecho de estambre café y costurado a mano también.
The ballet costumes are made of two glittering fabrics and tulle
to lift the skirt.
And finally they all embellished with a lot of ribbons, flowers and small butterflies in their hair.
Tercer Acto
El traje esta hecho de telas con muchos brillos y tul para levantar la falda.
Y finalmente estan adornadas con muchos listones y flores y
unas pequeñas mariposas en el pelo.
The curtain falls, ligths off, everything is quiet now...
The ballet is over !
Cae el telón,
se apagan las luces,
todo esta en silencio ahora...
El ballet ha terminado!
But this wonderful rewarding feeling I get from this ballerina doll
every time I saw it,
is never-ending.
Pero este maravilloso y gratificante sentimiento que me provoca cada vez que veo esta preciosa muñeca bailarina
